Poems from the Heart
------------------------------- Fractal 8/7/97 Everything making it up, it makes up everything. The unified field speaks of creation as a whole. Something big keeps saying hi in small places. Life spells off its special signatures one by one. ******* Bestowed Upon Us 10/30/99 Brand new world; this way and that way. The traffic of Maya builds up. Consumers of brand new worlds, look past the caravan to the magic in the desert night. ******* 1/11/00 If you have a smile on your face, you're a fool, an idiot. You are the prey of governments, the insane, and the callous. Everywhere you turn will be malice and injustice. If you don't have a smile on your face, you're a fool. What better poise and defense? Spiteful, belligerent, and wise. ******* Excavating into the hearts and minds of friends, some veins run deeper than others. As experience picks away at time, we rise to the surface of who we really are. A motherload of honesty and commitment could see a lucky miner through a lifetime of digging. ******* 3/19/01 Is it the happy child or the sad one that brings a gun to school? Is it the whole child, or the wounded one? If you need ponder the answer don't go near children. Math won't save the youth, or the world, but kindness and caring will. If you need ponder this, then you've learned too much, and lived too little, and loved not at all. ******* 1/14/01 We shop in the galactic market for what we align with. If everything awaits us, we have a long long journey. If we write long enough can we ever get to the heart of things? ******* Fragrance in the Stone 7/30/89 The earth pushes out each petal; the essence of the world pulses up high. See the rivers rise to carry mountains through the ages piece by piece into the sky. Even a seed in Winter will wander from the night. Finer and finer the earth becomes to lift through life, to ascend into light. Till time runs out when all is gone, but for a song that calls the world to earth again- beckoning the fragrance to the stone. ******* Recreational Karma 12/18/87 No one shares your birth, no one shares your death. Though billions are present, existence is personal. Right now we share this planet. Slip your hand down and under and onto the back of the material world; where do we end? How cruel to live and be punished by our sins while not knowing them. Don't tell me I have to come back here! ******* 1989 Let's put love aside, a weight too heavy to bear. The writers of love prey on us with a false and misleading emotion. Let's just hold one another close and free; nurture each other. Love worldly things, but nurture each another. ******* Sunrise Sun unknown to self, silhouetted still, yet in glory, clear your sight and recognize, you are the morning light. ******* If one hand were clapping, that would leave the other to push the river. ******* When we attempt to describe the grandeur of being, we need to use up all the words, past, present and future. Sentences convolute and heads ache, giving birth to a new revelation. ******* |
Observations
------------------------------ Mickey Has More Rights Than You March 15, 2003 Barbie curls her hair, while women go bald in therapy. Ronald's nose keeps getting larger, while the rainforest keeps getting smaller. Imaginary creatures are outstripping Mother Nature. Traders would sell the earth to aliens if given the chance. They haven't yet... have they? ******* March 2, 2003 Compassion, and compassion only, there's really no other response. All the logic in all the arguments mean nothing. You might think there's a secret reason to create something else, but there is no plan B. Those who came before, were captive to their thoughts. We ours. Culture rolls on. It isn't there that we meet; it's face to face. ******* If someone tells you to grow up, ask for a reason and a couple of examples. ******* Language is a magic act that makes truth disappear. ******* Wouldn't just "dundancy" be sufficient? ******* Machiavillains April 13, 2003 One sentence opened up a world to me. We don't have friends, they have interests. Bottom liners, bottom feeders. ******* Jokes April 13, 2003 The voice for American politicial ethics is embedded and secure in political cartooning: a laughing matter. A black and white blip of irony on the affairs of state. Efficient, one dimensional reporting. A safe avoidance of moral animation. ******* April 17, 2003 It was only fitting that no on spoke up about the Emperor's new clothes. He never mentioned their rags. ******* Disturbing the Peace April 19, 2003 No matter how hard we try to become civilized, history just repeats itself. We're masters of war, and baffoons of peace. If peace were a business and a profit could be made... But memories are strong and imaginations weak. Wake peace anyway. ******* Loyalty April 20, 2003 There are dogs that help the blind, and dogs that sniff out bombs and THC. Where's the dog that sniffs out hunger, homelessness and poverty? Want to war on something? War on these. ******* Politics in Parliament is much like World Wide Wrestling. Instead of physical pain, they inflict mental pain. A verbal free for all where no one gets hurt, and everyone goes home laughing. ******* One 4/5/03 A mother and father sit at home and wonder why every station isn't covering their son's death. The mindless heartless chatter goes on, but never clearer than tonight. The heavy world rolls away, while America loses weight on sixteen channels. Their child was killed. In a nano second a portrait and a name flash by. It's only one death in many that the world rolls over. There will be medals, a folded flag, talk of heroism and sacrifice. They want their child back. A single digit in loss calculation. We have to expect casualties; a minimal loss of life. If we place the losses side by side, one by one, son by son, father by father, daughter by daughter, it's a sum greater than the whole. A single soundbite in the six o'clock news, a short note in the local paper, an instant of whispered conversation. Recognition at the speed of enemy fire. This One has been subtracted from their gut. This negative number gives a felt function that can't show up in any report, nor these words. They want their child back. They want time to turn back. They want events to change back. The world to roll back. Hope to come back. One is the cost of war. One is too great a price. ******* |
