Observations
-------------------------------- 1/31/07 A world in a kitchen, all to become part of me, I all of it. Man does live by bread alone, and he lives by bread with others too. But that which causes bread to become bread, wheat to become wheat, water to be water, feeds the rest of me. ******* Spell It Like It Is. 8/9/07 Politics business politics business h politics, business business politics hu business hum politics huma business business business politics human. ******* Iceberg 8/5/07 They only see what is before them in plain sight. All eyes and ears, the bright lights and colors do it again. Phenomena, feed me. We swallow and follow the latest stimulated receptor: sensational, amazing, enthralling, captivating and astonishing. Below the surface is hidden the wake of our ignorance. The residue, wrappers and refuse of our entertainments. Under all this August headiness is my secret desire for an ice maker. ******* Bread and Circus 2007 Sex on tv is dirty. If they're killing the hell out of one another, it's entertainment. ******* 2007 We bend rivers to make roads. We remove mountains for their goodies. We conquer space and oceans too. But ending poverty and hunger, is just too hard to do. ******* 8/20/07 Two gods spoke us into existence, one for the good, the other evil. Goodness is the means to good. Let it be the sound we make in the world. ******* Nipping 9/12/07 A mad dog is loose in the house, his mind has gone by the wayside. His spirit is soured and no longer a friend. Yet we feed him so no one will trespass, and let him out now and then, lest some forget. ******* Carver 7/15/07 Without knowing and without will the wood becomes beautiful. We become whittled and polished, whittled and polished, until we become great beings, clear, solid and balanced. ******* Turning Into 9/21/07 We pass through the light, red, green, blue-- our bodies aglow. Those who turn full toward illumination shine head to toe, back to front, and reflect the warmth of white heat. ******* Their incredible inability to understand another point of view, far surpasses their intelligence and wisdom. ******* 2007 What's the sweetest part of God? Focus there. ******* |
Observations
------------------------------- Without ever blinking or losing vigilance, for decades the tree overlooked the meadow. And with affection and loyalty, the meadow remained with the tree. ******* Heroes 2008 The front lines. 28 to 1. Coming from every direction. Relentless, merciless. Without backup, without supplies. They take no prisoners... Students, classroom, teacher. ******* 1/18/08 Enlightenment is already in the next moment. In order to catch up, we need to stay put. ******* May 2008 Will it harm us if we take in this beautiful isolation? Wet and cold May comes to town. She rains down windows and drainpipes, steps and rails. Random as can be, each drop is secure in the storm. ******* Creating Heavens 1/4/08 If all the good people of the earth got together and loved real hard, we could create a whole new planet to evolve to next. ******* The Crotch-Centered Theory 1/28/08 Their groins would drive them to town tonight. They will dress in clothes their groins will choose, and jump into cars that scream groin. Dancing, blood drawn downward, partners will be chosen. Groins will talk and talk their ears off. Wine, laughter... Laughter is the language of groins. Make someone smile today. ******* While I Teach 12/21/07 I teach when students aren't listening. I teach while I'm looking at them to see if they're listening. I teach while announcements are broadcast, while students come in late, while teachers, parents and flyers enter the room. I teach while students go to the bathroom, code word for locker, bubbler. I teach while students are called to the office, leaving early, while I'm writing on the board. I teach while I'm answering a question, while we're reading, while no one gives a hoot. I teach while notes are being passed, budgets are being cut, and classes are over stuffed. I'm teaching while I'm sick, their sick; while bulletins are pushed under my door, while my computers are down. I teach while administrators are dreaming up things for me to do, while money is being wasted. I teach while looking for guns and intruders. I teach when learning takes place, or there ain't no teaching at all. I teach while lawmakers work hard to take my pension away. ******* Wood Stove Moment 11/23/07 Fire loves wood. Flames gently massage the wedge of oak that surrenders, having nowhere to go but away. Love is like this. It can make people disappear, poof up in smoke. Both generate heat, magic. Both burn badly. ******* 11/13/07 All the people we judged wrongly and harshly on earth, we get to defend at the Pearly Gates. ******* |
Observations
------------------------------ Rationale 11/15/07 You argue: the defenses others should have exercised against your conscious decision to deceive then. We argue: those defenses will be expected of you prior to your inevitable downfall. ******* Calling Rain 11/21/07 The old men had rocks, sacred stones,. that they gently placed in a stone bowl then bathed them in blood and potions. They spoke softly to them... Stones, non-descript, common. They wash them carefully, mumbling. We gracefully grant them their superstitions and the outside chance of rain. We have our own stones. ancient gems holding many prayers.. Dazzling, mystifying, we speak to them, sometimes aloud. There is thunder. ******* 8/26/02 A broken mind is in the employment of a broken heart. ******* Wondrous Day 2022 5/29/06 There came a great people unto this land. They came with many wondrous things. We opened our homes to them, and gave as Wankan Tanka gives. But these great people were small in heart. They took what we shared, then took the rest. Yet, as they came, so did they go, with many wondrous things and broken spirits. Wankan Tanka again came up from the center of the earth and again human beings lived in the ways of the earth and sky, the vision of the circle, the comforts of the Creator. ******* Organic 7/24/06 I like my government without additives; no artificial colors and flavors please. I like my reality without filters. I like the way the earth spins, but not the way truth does. ******* A Pile of Shoes 2006 A pile of shoes in the closet: my day, year. Everywhere I've been they've been. My life on the floor of my closet. But not just my floor, many floors. Each step, every walking moment... Tied up in the laces is the companionship of those I've met. Everything I've seen, reflected in the shine. Every obstacle and ounce of gravity in the wear. *******. If life were free, everything else would be. Some things you just don't say, so you say it in a poetic way. ******* Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the blessing to complain. ******* Re,vision 4/9/04 There's an old women in a village who fixes broken songs. You bring yours to her and she plays it until you tell her it's just right. Then she teaches it to you. ******* |
